Credit Repair Company Settling Lawsuit

DENVER (CBS4)- A credit repair company based in Denver is settling a lawsuit that was filed by Colorado's Attorney General.

Veracity Credit Consultants was accused of charging customers an up-front free of up to $100. State law only allows credit repair firms to collect money after it provides services.

The company is accused of misleading customers about its ability to clear negative items from credit reports.

Veracity has agreed to pay the state $400,000 plus other costs and fees.
