Colorado Redistricting Panel Heading To Salida

DENVER (AP) - A Colorado commission that's redrawing the state's legislative districts is listening to what the public has to say about its initial maps.

The state's House and Senate districts are redrawn every 10 years.

This week the Colorado Reapportionment Commission plans to travel to Salida on Thursday, Gunnison on Friday, and Montrose and Grand Junction on Saturday to hear comments on its proposed maps. More meetings are scheduled around the state in coming weeks.

A final map is to be submitted to the State Supreme Court for approval by an Oct. 7 deadline.
