Colorado police ask for help identifying suspect, vehicle in hit-and-run
Police in Lakewood are asking for help in identifying the suspect driver wanted in a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian. According to investigators, a male was crossing West Alameda Parkway at West Mississippi Avenue in a marked crosswalk about 9:22 p.m. on Aug. 28 when the collision happened.
Investigators said the suspect vehicle, described as a red pickup truck, failed to yield to the pedestrian. That's when the male became attached to the passenger side of the pickup as it sped away eastbound on Alameda.
The male fell down and was run over by the pickup. Investigators said the pickup left the area without stopping or returning to the scene.
The suspect vehicle is described as a mid-sized red pickup with a black hood, black side mirrors and aluminum wheels.
Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to call Lakewood Police Agent Vogel at 303-987-7251 and to reference Lakewood PD case LK26-023126.
