Colorado Sending Firefighters And SuperTanker To California
DENVER (CBS4) - Firefighters from multiple agencies in Colorado are headed to California to help fight the wildfires raging northwest of Los Angeles.
Colorado is sending 17 fire engines (Type 3 and 6) to support California wildfire operations, according to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.
Four West Metro firefighters and an engine headed out Wednesday morning.
The Grand Junction Fire Department is also sending a crew.
The Global Supertanker based in El Paso County is also joining the fight.
According to the e CDFPC, crews from agencies are leaving for California on Dec. 6 for a 14-day deployment are from across the state, including:
- Deer Mountain Fire Protection District
- Elk Creek Fire Fire Protection District
- Grand Fire Protection District
- Grand Junction Fire Department
- Mountain View Fire Protection District
- North-West Fire Protection District
- West Metro Fire Department
- Arvada Fire Protection District
- Aurora Fire Protection District
- Castle Rock Fire Department
- Donald Wescott Fire Protection District
- Gypsum Fire Department
- Lake Dillon Fire Department
- North Metro Fire Department
- Security Fire Protection District
- South Arkansas Fire Department
