Child Dies, 6 Others Injured In I-70 Crash

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Officials with the Colorado State Patrol said a child has died and six others were injured in crash on Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel Tuesday evening.

Trooper Nate Reid said a four-door sedan crashed with the seven occupants. Two were adults and five were children.

Two of the children were airlifted to The Children's Hospital in Aurora and the other two children and adults were transported on the ground to Summit Medical Center. One of the children died at the scene.

There were no ages or conditions available on any of the other people.

Westbound I-70 had to be closed for unknown amount of time for the investigation.
