Cherry Canyon Fire Grows Rapidly In Southeastern Colorado
(CBS4) - The Cherry Canyon Fire burning southeast Colorado has now covered 7,390 acres. The fire was first reported about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Crews are trying to fully suppress the fire which is burning mostly in grass.
They list the cause as being natural but have not given any more details. There were isolated thunderstorms in that area Tuesday evening. Lightning was minimal but weather may have contributed.
It is burning outside of Kim, which is about 60 miles east of Trinidad.
