Broncos Fans Line Up For Team Jerseys

DENVER (CBS4)- The 2012 NFL Draft could not come soon enough for Broncos fans, especially since it gave many a chance to get their hands on the new Nike replica jerseys, especially those Peyton Manning jerseys.

They went on sale at 6 a.m. Thursday and Devin Keyes was at the head of the line. He showed up to the Broncos team store at Sports Authority Field at Mile High at 3:45 a.m.

Turns out, it wasn't a Manning jersey he was even after.

"I want the very first Vonn Miller jersey," he said. "I want the very first 2012 Denver Broncos jersey."

Keyes said he likes Manning just fine but his loyalties are to another position.

"Defense wins Super Bowls. Vonn Miller is a rare defensive talent," Keyes said. "I'm glad he's a Denver Bronco."

But for many of the other fans in line, it was all about Manning. One couple wasn't far behind Keyes but looking for Manning gear, willing to get up early.

"It's a big deal because we stand behind every player we get," she said. "And we got Peyton Manning! I mean how many teams are jealous of us, how many fans are jealous of us."

Robin Booras already had a Manning jersey but showed up at 6 a.m. to shop some more and to just share her excitement for the draft.

"I just love my Broncos and I am so ready for football season," Booras said. "I am so ready for the draft. I can't wait to see what they do tonight."

Right now only replica jerseys are available. Those run $110 and have screened numbers. The authentic field jerseys should be available in July and will cost about $300.

Nike has replaced Rebok as the official clothing provider for the NFL.
