Bradley Roby Named AFC Defensive Player Of The Week

DENVER (CBS4) - Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

In Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, Roby had 7 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown.

The Broncos were losing 7-3 before Roby's 49-yard return jump started the team to a 27-19 victory over the Chargers.

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was hit on the sidelines during the play and had to be carted off the field.

This is the second time in the 2016 season that a Bronco won the award.

Linebacker Von Miller was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the week 2 match-up against the Indianapolis Colts, when he had 7 tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble.

This is the first time Roby has received the award.

Roby's recognition marks the 32nd time a Broncos defensive player has earned the conference player of the week award since the NFL first presented the award in 1984.
