6 Indicted In Wide-Ranging Auto, Identity Theft Scheme
DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver grand jury has indicted six people on 119 counts of car, property and identity theft that spanned two years.
Indicted are Nathan Johnson, 29, Shelby Coombes, 22, Bryant Walker, 21, Antonia Solazzo, 28, Jackie Montieth, 29, and Franklin Gorzelski, 29.
In addition to several felonies resulting from theft charges, the six are accused of violating the state's organized crime control and pawnbroker's acts.
Coombes and Walker are at large. The other four have been arrested.
The Metropolitan Auto Theft Task Force's work resulted in the indictments.
The district attorney's office said Johnson, Coombes and other broke into vehicles and swiped tools, electronics, credit cards and personal identification. They stole older model cars, the district attorney said, and created fake titles that enabled them to sell them to scrap yards.
There are more than 90 victims, the district attorney's office said.
Court dates are still pending.
