3 Seeking Mayor's Position In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Voters will choose among three candidates in an April 5 election to succeed Fort Collins Mayor Doug Hutchinson, who can't run again because of term limits.

The deadline for filing for the election was Thursday.

The candidates are former school board member Ross Cunniff, community activist Eric Sutherland and former City Council member Karen Weikunat.

The mayor serves a 2-year term.

Voters will also elect four members of the seven-member City Council.

Fort Collins is Colorado's fourth-largest city, with about 144,000 residents.
