Chicago surgeon travels to Sudan to provide aid as civil war surpasses 1,000 days
Amid the ongoing civil war in Sudan, this month marks the somber milestone of more than 1,000 days of the world’s greatest humanitarian crisis. More than 14 million people have been displaced from their homes, and 30 million are in dire need of humanitarian aid. A Chicago area surgeon recently was part of a team of doctors let into Sudan to perform life-saving care.
