A city employee caught in gang crossfire was among four people killed and 32 more wounded in shootings across Chicago since late Friday afternoon, police said.
The homicide happened about 9:30 p.m. in Humboldt Park on the West Side.
The latest homicide happened Sunday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
In all four incidents, two men walked up to victims in their vehicles, pulled out guns and took their property before driving away in a blue Chevrolet Impala or black Nissan Altima, according to a community alert from police.
Most recently, a 21-year-old woman was shot to death early Monday in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side, police said.
A 16-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old man was wounded in an Englewood neighborhood shooting about 4:45 p.m. on the South Side, police said.
The weekend's two latest homicides resulted from a mass shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood that left three more people injured late Sunday on the South Side.
A six-year-old boy was injured after a shooting on the West Side Wednesday evening.
Most recently, a man was shot in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.
Most recently, a man was shot and critically wounded in the Canaryville neighborhood on the South Side.
One man was killed and at least three other people — including a 15-year-old boy — were wounded in shootings Monday on the city's South and West sides.
The most recent fatal shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
The only fatal shooting of the weekend happened late Saturday at a bar in the Irving Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
The latest homicides happened within an hour of each other in Humboldt Park and Back of the Yards.
About 10:15 a.m., a man was shot to death in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. The 24-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 0-100 block of North Keeler when someone walked up to him and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.
At 1:06 a.m., the 35-year-old was at a gas station in the 600 block of South Independence when he heard an argument, then heard gunfire and realized he'd been shot in the foot, according to Chicago Police.
Most recently, a man was shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. The 55-year-old was shot in the back about 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 74th Street.
Most recently, a man was critically wounded in an Auburn Gresham neighborhood shooting.
A 56-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of South Troy about 9:15 p.m. when someone walked up to him and shot him multiple times in both legs, according to Chicago Police.
The homicide happened about 6:15 p.m. in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.
Two women and one man were shot late Friday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
The shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Cermak Road, according to Chicago Police.
Most recently, a man was injured in an East Garfield Park neighborhood drive-by shooting Tuesday night on the West Side.
Most recently, a man was critically wounded in a shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
