The 28-year-old delivery driver was shot when a group of people approached him and announced a robbery about 9:10 p.m. in the 100 block of North Kildare, police said. About 40 minutes earlier, at 8:35 p.m., a different delivery driver went to the same address to deliver food but was robbed at gunpoint instead.
Two gunmen walked into the store about 9:20 p.m. in the 7500 block of South May Street, announcing a robbery and forcing everyone inside the store into a back room. The duo made off with an unspecified amount of cash, and the store occupants noticed smoke coming from the building when they left the back room.
