Winter Weather Advisory For Chicago Area

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A winter weather advisory has been issued for the Chicago area, with forecasters predicting up to four inches of snow in some locations.

Generally, the area should get 2 to 3 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

In Chicago, totals may be two inches at the most.

The advisory covers most counties in the Chicago area: Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Will and Lake, Porter in Indiana.

The snow is expected to develop late on Wednesday evening and diminish by mid afternoon on Thursday.

"Plan on slippery Road conditions, including during the morning commute on Thursday," according to the weather service.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Drivers should be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility.
