White Sox Offer Gift To Fans Who Braved 'Chillular Field' On Saturday

(CBS) -- The White Sox to fans: Sorry about the wintry wonderland at U.S. Cellular Field.

On Saturday, the White Sox contended with a second straight day of abnormally cold weather, and they thought some fans may have had a less-than-stellar experience due to cleanups at the South Side stadium.

So everyone who attended is eligible to get a voucher for a free game later this year. The details: The ticket will be for an upper-level seat or a $5 outfield reserve seat for any future April or May home game this season.

"Fan safety is always our first priority," Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of marketing and broadcasting, said in a prepared statement. "Today's weather forced a delay in opening the gates and some inconveniences for fans attending today's game.  We appreciate our fans coming out despite the cold, snow and ice, and we wanted to thank them for their always-amazing support by offering them a ticket to a future Sox game this spring."

The White Sox also released video showing the snowy conditions that ground crews had to deal with.

Chicago beat the Cleveland Indians to improve to 4-2.
