Teen Shot, Wounded In Rogers Park

CHICAGO (CBS) - A teen is hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his head, neck and arm after a gang-related shooting Wednesday night, in the Rogers Park neighborhood just a stone's throw from the Howard 'L' terminal.

At 10:03 p.m. the 18-year-old man was walking in the 7600 block of North Paulina Street, in the "North of Howard" section of Rogers Park, when a gunman approached on foot and shot him in his chest, head and arm, according to a police News Affairs release.

The teen was taken in serious condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, the release said.

The suspect fled in a dark-colored vehicle and was not in custody as of 4:45 a.m., the release said. The shooting may be gang-related.

The release said Belmont Area detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting.
