Teen Boy Killed In West Side Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 14-year-old boy died after he was shot on the West Side early Sunday, authorities said.
About 12:20 a.m., the boy was standing outside in the 4000 block of West Wilcox with several other people when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.
He was shot in the left side of his chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 9:04 a.m., an official with the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigated.
The boy was shot less than two blocks away from the site of an Aug. 18 shooting that left one person dead and another three wounded.
