Sunny, breezy day in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — A quieter stretch of weather has returned with breezy north winds, cooling temperatures, and dropping humidity levels.

Highs will rise into the 70s to near 80 the rest of the week, with partly cloudy skies and only an isolated afternoon shower. 

The wind will keep temperatures cooler near the lake as it blows in from the 72-degree Lake Michigan waters.

Nighttime lows will be the coolest since Jul. 1, with some rural areas dropping to nearly 50 degrees on Thursday and Friday mornings.

A more humid, wetter weather pattern returns next week.
