Severe storm chances decreasing Monday night
Storms are possible in the Chicago area Monday evening and night, but the likelihood has dropped.
A warm front will push high temperatures into the 80s with increasing winds by the afternoon and into the evening, when gusts could reach 40 to 45 mph.

Meteorologist David Yeomans said while a dangerous tornado outbreak is expected in Minnesota and Iowa Monday night, as those storms race toward the Chicago area in the overnight hours they will weaken on their way, making our risk of severe weather much lower.
Only a few instances of wind damage or hail is possible in the far northwestern suburbs, Yeomans said.
The Storm Prediction Center has lowered Chicago's risk for severe weather to a Level 1. Some parts of the Chicago area will remain storm-free all night, including in the city and in the southwest suburbs.
The severe weather threat ends Tuesday morning.
Showers continue for the rest of the week with highs in the 50s and 60s.
