Chicago Police Fatally Shoot Suspect In Washington Park

(CBS) --An investigation is underway after Chicago Police shot and killed a 26-year-old man who pointed a gun at officers overnight.

Police say it was shortly after midnight when they got a call of shots fired in the Washington Park neighborhood.

Tactical officers responded in the 5300 block of South King Drive. They spotted a suspect who took off on foot. A chase ensued, during which a spokesperson says the man turned a gun on police. Officers then fired multiple shots at the man, who was hit several times. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
