Man Wounded In Shooting On Stevenson Expressway
(CBS) -- A shooting on the Stevenson Expressway sent one man to the hospital and shut down southbound lanes at Central Avenue for hours Saturday morning.
Illinois State Police say the man was driving in a black SUV when a gray Volkswagen SUV drove up alongside and started firing around 6:18 a.m. The Volkswagen then fled southbound on Central.
The victim was transported to MacNeal Hospital with a wound to the leg that authorities say is non-life-threatening.
The southbound lanes were shut down as police investigated and re-opened at about 9:15.
