Man Shot, Wounded By Police In Englewood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was injured in a police-involved shooting in the Englewood neighborhood overnight.
Police say an officer shot and injured a suspect during an altercation around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West 59th Street.

Officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the area, which is known for gang and narcotics activity, according to a statement from News Affairs.
Officers saw a man with a gun in his hand as they approached the 5900 block of South Princeton Avenue, the statement said.
The man pointed the gun in the direction of the officers, who shot him in the leg, according to the statement. The man was arrested and taken to an area hospital.
No officers were injured and a weapon was recovered, according to the statement, the statement said.
A representative of the Independent Police Review Authority -- which investigates all police-involved shootings -- confirmed the incident but did not immediately have additional information early Tuesday.
Hospital information and information on the condition of the man who was shot was not immediately available, according to police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.
