Police: Man Dies After South Chicago Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) --A man died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head Monday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said.

The shooting occurred at 9:10 a.m. in the 8300 block of South Baltimore Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

A man in his 20s was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.

Area South detectives are investigating.
