CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Thursday.

Witnesses saw the man driving the motorcycle lose control and skid off the roadway about 3:20 a.m. in the outbound lanes of Interstate 94 near 83rd Street, according to Illinois State Police Trooper Jan Sieczka.

The man--whose exact age wasn't imediately known--was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in "serious but stable" condition, Sieczka said.

All lanes were open to traffic as of 4:30 a.m.
