SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois lawmakers face a number of issues as they wind down their fall veto session but won't consider increasing the state's minimum wage.

Votes could come Wednesday on an expanded election law and a state health-insurance exchange.

Speaker Michael Madigan's spokesman Steve Brown said the Chicago Democrat felt "complications" made it unlikely a wage hike could be passed this year.

A measure that would permanently allow same-day voting registration and extending the period for early voting could advance in the House after it received committee approval Monday.

And the House could also take up a plan to create a state-run health insurance marketplace after committee approval Monday. Supporters say it could bring $300 million in federal funding.

Both House and Senate are scheduled to adjourn Thursday.
