Hot Temps Blowing In Ahead Of The Air & Water Show This Weekend
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago is heating up just in time for the Air & Water Show on the lakefront this weekend, though there is a chance for a few spotty showers.
The high was expected to reach about 85 degrees on Thursday, and with winds out of the southwest, there won't be any cooling effect along the lake. Temperatures could push 90 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Rain to the northwest of Illinois will move into the Chicago area overnight, likely starting in the very early morning hours on Friday. That system could bring scattered thunderstorms, but not any large storm systems.
There will be a small chance of some isolated storms on Saturday, for the first day of the Air & Water Show. Sunday should be dry, but still hot.
So while you should bring plenty of sunscreen and cold drinks if you're headed to the Air Show, it might be a good idea to bring an umbrella on Saturday, just in case.
