Crowds Were Awed By The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival

CHICAGO (CBS) – Despite Saturday's cold weather, crowds made their way downtown to officially kick off the holiday season at BMO Harris Bank's Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.

CBS 2's Audrina Bigos was live along the parade route.

The lights turned on Saturday night along the Magnificent Mile. The temperatures dropped and just like that you could feel the holiday cheer.

Along the Magnificent Mile, more than a million lights were lit, that will now twinkle throughout the holiday season.

"I think it's like almost Christmas!"

It's not quite Christmas just yet, but it sure does look and feel like it in Chicago.

Leading the parade was the World's most-famous couple, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

And behind the Grand Marshalls was the World Series MVP, Cubs Second Baseman Ben Zobrist. Followed by the non-holiday song, 'Go Cubs Go' that really got the crowd going.

The crows loved everything, the lights, the music, the magic – the floars and massive balloons, the mascots, and the marching bands. Each one of them spread their holiday cheer.
