1 Dead, 1 Injured In Roseland Drive-By
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man is dead and another was critically wounded Saturday night during a drive-by shooting in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood.
The two men were standing outside near East 110th Street and South Vernon Avenue when a dark-colored vehicle drove by and someone inside fired shots about 10:25 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.
Arlanders Watkins, 46, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 11:09 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Watkins lived in the 10900 block of South Vernon Avenue, a block from where he was shot, according to the medical examiner's office.
The other man, 21, was shot in the neck and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
Police said the shooting is gang-related.
No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
