Last year's Cyber Monday was the biggest online shopping day in U.S. history. Shoppers spent a record $10.8 billion. Cyber Monday 2021 may still be a couple of months away, but if last year is any indication, it will be major. So if you're ready to start shopping, bookmark this page. It'll be updated with all the Cyber Monday 2021 sale developments as they're announced, so you can create your holiday shopping gameplan.
Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving) is a day dedicated to online shopping sales. It's a great time to score deals on holiday gifts while shopping safely at home.
Cyber Monday is on Nov. 29 this year. Many of the sales start at midnight, so some shoppers stay up late to snag items before they sell out. But other retailers have scrapped the idea of a one-day sale and opt for an entire Cyber Week instead, sometimes starting the sale before Cyber Monday and ending it after.
Cyber Monday was named by the National Retail Federation in 2005 to encourage people to online shop.
With more people online shopping due to COVID-19, the lines between Cyber Monday and Black Friday have blurred. (Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving, a day traditionally dedicated to in-store shopping sales.)
In 2020, many stores had online sales throughout the month of November, if not sooner. And many deals were only available online. Walmart offered specials on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Apple Watch 3 and Airpods Pro online only, for example.
We don't know what will be on sale this year yet, but traditionally, Cyber Monday sees deals on TVs, appliances, toys, Apple products and more. Most major retail sites will have a sale going on, from Best Buy to Amazon.
While there's still some time to wait until Cyber Monday comes, there are plenty of great deals you can get right now.
