MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) - Police in Manchester, New Hampshire say a bold attack happened right before midnight Monday. The victim, who was a staying at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel was ambushed.

The 22-year-old from California was headed back to her room, which is not far from the airport. She had just left the Chili's restaurant, when the suspect suddenly grabbed her.

"She reported that the subject had grabbed her from behind, she fought him off, using her purse," says Manchester Police Lt. Michael Hurley. "After fighting him off, she was able to run back to the hotel."

Police say the man did not show a weapon and did not say anything. Local women are now on alert.

As police continue to investigate the case, they are advising people to be on guard.
