Winter Bar Review: The Four's
Hours: Daily 11am-12am
The beginning of cold temperatures and first snowflakes signal the beginning of winter sports mania in Boston. With the Bruins, the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, there is no doubt that the boys of summer (Red Sox) are a distant memory, and Bostonians are all about the black & yellow. The best place to watch the Bruins games or to grab a beer or a few before heading to the Garden is The Four's on Canal Street.
Get there and get there early is the name of the game at The Four's. Despite it being two floors with two bars, fans are well aware of The Four's appeal: walls covered with Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots paraphernalia; a large pub menu; and enough beers to go around. Being one of the nation's first sports pubs, opening in 1976, and named by Sports Illustrated as the #1 Sports Bar, doesn't hurt The Four's appeal either. Tons of flat screen TV's line the tops of the bars, as well as around the seating area, so you are sure to catch any of the day's games.
Whether you are going to pregame or to watch the game for the afternoon, the atmosphere of the Four's is unlike any other. You are steps from the Garden where your favorite team is playing and celebrating scores with fans of all ages.
The Four's draws twenty-something yuppies, families with budding sports fans, and Boston fans who have been rooting for the home team for 50 years. Combining good food and good fun, the Four's is the best winter bar in Boston.
