Wheaton College Investigates 'Hate Speech' Fliers

NORTON, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts college is trying to figure out who placed hand-written fliers containing racial slurs, threats and other derogatory words on dorm room doors.

The Sun Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1Oh511S ) reports that the fliers were found in Meadows West dorm at Wheaton College on Sept. 5, a week after students returned for the new school year.

They fliers had swastikas, racial epithets and warnings— written out in different handwriting —for "all foreigners" to leave.

The college's president addressed the incident last Friday in a town hall meeting in which student leaders spoke out.

It is being investigated by the Wheaton Department of Public Safety. The school is asking students with information about the fliers to come forward.
