Wednesday's Child: 7-Year-Old Randy
BOSTON (CBS) - Bright, engaging and inquisitive, 7-year-old Randy is bursting with energy and ready to try anything new. He is a creative, humorous youngster of Vietnamese descent who loves to laugh and has a variety of interests. Randy's social worker is seeking an adoptive family where Randy will receive the love and stability he needs to thrive.
Randy is doing well in school and is in the first grade. He currently lives in a foster home where there are a lot of older children, and he loves the attention he receives from them. In his spare time, Randy loves to draw, color and paint, as well as play with board games. Randy is up for most outdoor adventures, including riding his bicycle, going to the beach and camping. He is a good swimmer and a talented artist. He says he might like to grow up to become a firefighter or a police officer so he can help people.
Meet Randy
Randy's social worker is seeking a family who can devote their time and attention to ensuring that Randy's needs are met. He would do best in a home with a mom and dad and older children if there were other children. He is in therapy now to address adoption issues and past trauma and will continue to benefit from services after he is placed in an adoptive home. Randy will need a lengthy transition into a new home with support from his therapist, foster mother and social worker. After placement, Randy will need to have two visits a year with birth family members and continued contact with his foster family in Massachusetts."
To learn more about Randy, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
