Wednesday's Child: 4-Year-Old Kinnie

BOSTON (CBS) --- Kinnie is an outgoing and personable 4-year-old African American boy. He enjoys playing with trucks, coloring, playing on an iPad, and the company of adults and other children.

He is active and enjoys being outdoors in nature, as well as having family outings. Kinnie has been diagnosed with autism and is working on articulating his needs and feelings. He loves to both give and receive affection from his foster family and others.

Kinnie currently attends a special education program in a preschool, where he receives speech and occupational therapy. His speech has reportedly improved since entering the program and is able to make good eye contact with others. Kinnie is a fast learner and continues to make great progress. Like many children his age, he can struggle with limits and would benefit from a calm and nurturing two-parent home or a single parent home in an urban environment. He would do well living with or without other children. Kinnie is legally free for adoption.

To learn more about Kinnie, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org.

The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
