WBZ, Boston Globe To Host First Of Three Boston Mayoral Debates
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston mayoral candidates City Councilor John Connolly and State Representative Marty Walsh will square off in the first of three live televised debates on Tuesday, October 15, the candidates announced on Friday.
The debate, which will run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. will be moderated by WBZ political analyst Jon Keller with questions from Boston Globe reporter Akilah Johnson.
It will air on WBZ-TV, WBZ-AM NewsRadio 1030, and will be streamed live here on cbsboston.com and on boston.com and bostonglobe.com.
The format of the live debate will allow candidates up to 90 seconds to respond to questioning from Keller and Johnson, followed by extended periods of open debate and rebuttal.
Candidates will be free to question one another and engage in direct exchanges.
The election is scheduled for November 5.
