Video Shows NH Man Allegedly Attempting To Steal Horse

HOLLIS, N.H. (CBS) – Surveillance video captured a New Hampshire man allegedly trying to steal a horse.

Hollis Police were called to a Hayden Road home after a resident said a man had tried to mount and ride a horse that was secured inside a barn.

The suspect was able to mount the horse, but did not leave the area.

The man also allegedly stole a drink from a refrigerator in the barn and dumped out several containers of horse supplements in the area.

Officers initially stopped Jeremy Tappan as he was walking in the area, then let him go.

But after watching the surveillance video, police said they recognized Tappan as the person seen attempting to ride the horse.

He was arrested on charges of theft, criminal trespass, and criminal violations.

Tappan was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail. He is slated to be arraigned on August 19 in 9th Circuit Court Nashua District Division.
