Two More Solar Panels Stolen From Carver
CARVER (CBS) - Two more solar panels have reportedly been stolen from an array along route 44 in Carver.
A total of 25 panels have now been taken in the last week from a 600-foot section of land.
The solar panels provide power to the North Carver water district. They cost $150,000 and only went in to operation last month. The money to pay for them came from a federal economic stimulus grant.
At this point, police still aren't sure whether the panels are being re-sold on the black market or if they're being sold as scrap metal.
Police told the Patriot Ledger that this most recent theft may have been a copycat.
