Man once on most wanted list accused of threatening Mass. State Police trooper
A man accused of heading up a violent gang is facing witness intimidation charges after police say he threatened a Massachusetts State Police trooper.
Concerns for the trooper's safety are so great, police are providing 24-hour security outside his home. I-Team sources say the trooper was a witness in a case involving the gang.
Investigators say the trooper became the target of death threats by Steven Touch, the alleged violent leader of the "Young Bloods." Touch was on the Massachusetts Most Wanted List, and the FBI offered up to a $10,000 reward.
After more than five years on the run, Touch was arrested in 2018 after police found him hiding in a drawer built into a bed frame inside a Lynn apartment.
Touch faced a slew of charges including first-degree murder, home invasion and possession of high-capacity weapons. He was later released and is out on probation.
Police say just this week, he allegedly threatened a trooper who was a witness in a case involving him. Police say the alleged Young Bloods gang leader is seen on video showing up outside the trooper's home.
A police report says Touch was heard on a Ring camera saying, "good cop … bad cop," and "you can't beat science baby, ready to kill to find out."
Touch was arrested Thursday night in Lowell, Massachusetts, and is being held on a new charge of intimidation of a witness. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday morning.
