Safe Driving Contest Between Massachusetts And New York

BOSTON (CBS) - There's obviously a rivalry between Massachusetts and New York when it comes to sports.

Cambridge-based Everquote.com, an auto insurance search company, is hoping to use that rivalry to encourage safer driving.

They've developed an app called EverDrive that uses sensors in your phone to measure your speed and whether you're reading a text while moving.

You will then get a score which goes on a special leader board featuring only New York and Massachusetts drivers.

The safest driver from June 12 to June 25 could win $10,000.
