Red Sox, Others Send Scouts To See Ubaldo Jimenez
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox were among six teams that scouted Rockies pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez's start Sunday in Arizona, according to SI's Jon Heyman.
Jimenez was hit with the loss in the start, allowing five runs on eight hits in 5.0 innings.
Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post said that the Yankees and Reds remain the most probable destinations for Jimenez, if he is indeed traded. The Red Sox, Rangers, Tigers and Blue Jays also are interested in the right-hander.
In 20 starts this season, Jimenez is 6-9 with a 4.20 ERA and 116 strikeouts.
Last season, Jimenez threw a no-hitter as part of a 19-8 campaign.
