Beckett's Side Session Goes 'Well' At Fenway
BOSTON (CBS) - Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett tossed a side session at Fenway Park on Monday, with a Red Sox official telling WBZ-TV's Dan Roche all "went well."
It was the first time Beckett has thrown off a mound since being taken out of his September 5th start in Toronto with a right ankle sprain.
The team and Beckett are hoping for a return during Boston's series with the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway starting on Thursday. Manager Terry Francona said over the weekend Beckett would likely start one of the weekend games.
A decision on Beckett is expected to come on Tuesday.
Beckett is 12-5 with a 2.49 ERA in 27 starts this season.
