Quincy Man Charged With Lewdness Over MBTA Red Line Incident
BOSTON (CBS) – A Quincy man is facing charges of Open & Gross Lewdness for allegedly masturbating in front of a woman on a Red Line train.
Police say James Cox, 45, got onto on the inbound train around 2 p.m. at Quincy Center Station and sat across from the alleged victim.
A short time later, a male passenger alerted the victim to what Cox appeared to be doing. That man also managed to snap a photo of Cox that police later used to identify him.
Police tracked him down at his home on Thursday, where he reportedly confessed. He was arraigned and held on $150 bail and has been ordered to stay out of South Boston and away from all MBTA property and have no contact with any witness connected to the case.
