Haverhill Police Look To Charge Women Who Claimed To See Baby Thrown In Merrimack River
HAVERHILL (CBS) -- Haverhill Police say they will be seeking charges against two women who falsely claimed they saw a baby being tossed into the Merrimack River on Thursday night.
State Police say the women claimed to have seen a baby thrown into the river by a man on the Comeau Bridge around 7:30 p.m. However, Haverhill and State Police found no evidence to support the report.
The women are expected to be charged for misleading police.
A State Police dive team and Air Wing searched the area for a couple hours, but found nothing. The search was then called off.
