PLYMOUTH (CBS) -- The body of a swimmer who went missing in a Plymouth Pond Wednesday afternoon has been recovered.
Divers resumed the search Thursday morning for the 26-year-old man in Great Herring Pond.
First responders said three people were out on the boat Wednesday afternoon, two of them swimming, when wind gusts blew the boat away.
The 26-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was unable to make it back to the boat or the shore. According to witnesses, he was not wearing a life jacket.
"He jumped off the boat with no life jacket," said witness Derek Chapman.
Crews responded around 4 p.m. Wednesday, searching the water and the edges of the lake.
The search, which also included a Coast Guard Jayhawk helicopter, was suspended Wednesday night because of thunderstorms and pouring rain.
After the boats came out of the water Wednesday night, a few officers stayed behind to comfort the missing man's loved ones.
"You gotta feel for the people, the parents," said witness Danny Hont. "I feel bad for them, I hope they can get some closure."
