Pierce to Opt Out

His agent, Jeff Schwartz, notified the Celtics of his decision. Pierce gives up $21.5 in salary for next season. He can sign a maximum 4 years $96 million deal with Boston, while the most he can be offered from another team is 4 years $93 million.
Paul Pierce joins a who's-who free agent list that features teammate Ray Allen as well as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, and others.
