'Gronk Flakes' Hit Shelves Across New England

WALPOLE (CBS) - Your breakfast may never be the same.

Rob Gronkowski's new cereal "Gronk Flakes" hit store shelves on Tuesday, and the Patriots tight end was on hand to celebrate at a Walpole Stop & Shop.

It was another local athlete, Doug Flutie, who inspired Gronk to move to the breakfast market.

"It's a great opportunity," he said. "I thought it was a great idea because when 'Flutie Flakes' were out my parents bought them every day, and that's all I ate for three weeks in a row. Those were unbelievable."

Gronk-Flakes-2
"Gronk Flakes" hit stores shelves on Tuesday, with some proceeds going to Rob Gronkowski's charity.

"Me and my family always give back to the community; we love giving back," said Gronkowski. "We just wanted to step it up a bit so we created the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation."

"Gronk Flakes" will be available exclusively at participating New England Stop & Shop stores or online at PLBSports.com.  A portion of the proceeds from the cereal will benefit the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation.

"They eat the Gronk Flakes, you get buff," he said flexing his muscles, adding kids should always drink leftover milk as well.

One topic Gronkowski stayed quiet about was the replacement officials that have rocked the NFL.

"I think enough players have said enough in the last 24 hours," he said, "and enough fans too."

Although, he did offer one solution.

"They need to eat Gronk Flakes," he said. "Give them a box."
