Passenger Removed From Boston-Bound Flight Gov. Christie Was Aboard
BOSTON (AP/CBS) — Gov. Chris Christie was traveling from San Francisco to Boston when a passenger had to be removed from the plane before takeoff.
Christie spokeswoman Maria Comella said in a statement the Republican presidential candidate, an aide and a member of his security detail were traveling Friday morning from San Francisco to Boston aboard a United Airlines flight when a passenger was removed before takeoff at the airline's request.
Comella says at no point did the governor interact with the passenger, nor did the passenger pose a verbal or physical threat to Christie.
United spokesman Jonathan Guerin says flight 1108 was delayed because of disruptive customer.
An airport spokesperson says the passenger was removed from the flight for taking inappropriate photographs of flight attendants.
"The most important thing was it was a full flight, everyone is safe and got home, and during the current atmosphere you can never be too careful," Gov. Christie said when he arrived in Boston.
Christie's campaign said the delay meant that a New Hampshire event Friday night would have to be rescheduled.
