Fire Whipped By Storm Winds Burns Through Orleans House
ORLEANS (CBS) -- Orleans Police and Fire departments responded to a fire late Saturday night on Uncle Israel road during this weekend's snowstorm.
The fire was called in around 11:20 p.m. by two plow drivers who smelled smoke. Nobody was home at the time, as the single-family house was a summer residence.
Firefighters had a difficult time putting out the fire due to the weather, as winds whipped the flames.
Though there were no injuries, the house was a total loss. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation, and is believed to have been electrical in nature.
