Officials Release Video Of El Faro Wreckage
BOSTON (CBS) -- The National Transportation Security Board has released the first video footage of the sunken El Faro freighter.
Tom Roth-Roffy, the lead investigator for National Transportation Safety Board, told CBS's 60 Minutes all but the the mast where the ship's voyage data recorder was attached was found.
"It would have told us what the crew was experiencing at the time in the minutes before the vessel sank. What they observed, you know, the extent of the flooding, how they were responding, essentially, the events leading up to the actual catastrophe," Roth-Roffy told 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley.
