Northborough Southborough Budget Officer Charged With Stealing School Funds
WESTBOROUGH (CBS) -- A Northborough-Southborough School District budget officer is facing larceny and embezzlement charges after allegedly stealing money from the district's accounts.
Authorities say Christopher Hoey, 34, of Stow, stole more than $200,000. School Superintendent Christine Johnson alerted police after noticing the missing funds, according to the Worcester District Attorney's Office.
A judge ordered Hoey held on $100,000 bail during his arraignment Thursday. He is scheduled appear in court again in April.
The incident remains under investigation.
